Overview
Perreaux has been making some really great products without the big price tags like some other brands. The SA3 here is our affectionately coined “baby Goldmund” preamp. You might mistake it as a Goldmund with a quick glance but its built quality is on par with that of Goldmund. Soundwise, it has a very clean, neutral and transparent sound. Some may find it too analytical but if you have a good source unit and a warm sounding amp, everything will come to play nicely. For under $400, the phono stage alone is worth every penny but as a complete preamp, its a steal!
Cosmetically, the unit is in fine shape for its vintage. Some scuff marks here and there (like on the volume knob) and a bit of plastic crack on the side of the source/monitor button but nothing major. Internal voltage selector switch allows for switching between 110V to 250V so it can be used anywhere in the World. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
