Overview
The Beethoven range of speakers are in our opinion, their best bang for the buck offering. The Beethoven offers an incredible amount of bass, liquid smooth mids and sweet extended highs. Speakers have a narrow face of 8″ and a depth of 16″ which would have been the typical amount of floor space a bookshelf speaker and its stand would take. Height is 42.5″ which would put it slightly taller than the bookshelf speaker/stand setup. Outside these physical specs, the Beethoven has an impressive frequency range of 30 Hz to 22 kHz. With two 7″ XPP Spider Cone woofers, two XPP midranges and a 1″ silk dome tweeter, they can carve out an incredible soundstage in your room. Depth and height was on a larger scale and grows correspondingly with volume level. Truly impressive, especially when it is barely $1,400 for the pair. The speakers love good quality current from the amp it is paired to and operates typically in the 4 ohm range. Sensitivity is 91 dB.
Cosmetically, the speakers look fair. Minor scuff marks/nicks here and there and the dust caps on the four woofers have dimples/wrinkles on them (no impact on performance). One speaker has its top two corners scuffed up from a move but is not “patched” up. The grille covers are all good with all pegs intact. See our other listing for the Maestro center speaker which was used together in a HT system previously. Local pickup from our store preferred but can ship them (strapped on a pallet) if need to.
