Overview
This 5.1 speaker system from Morel is a bit “unconventional” in terms of looks. The LI-1 satellites are five half spheres that are 4.5″ in diameter. Small as they are, they are actually two way speakers that has one 3.5″ woofer and one 0.5″ polymer dome tweeter. They are good for 100 Hz to 22 kHz with a nominal impedance of 6 ohm. Sensitivity is 87 dB. The SoundSub 9 sub on the other hand is not spherical in shape but rather looks like a spare tire that you will find in the trunk of your car. Its a 20″ diameter circle with a 5″ depth and three rods that prop the sub up. On board amp is 100W and has a crossover range of 30-160 Hz and a volume knob that you can adjust to your preference. If you want to use the setup as a 2.1 speaker system, you just run your speaker wires from your amp to the sub and then another pair of speaker wires from the sub to two of the LI-1 satellites. The crossover in the sub will split the signal out to the satellites. In a 5.1 setup, you just run the five channels from the amp to the LI-1 satellites directly and then adjust the sub to blend with the satellites. In either setup/use, the speakers are incredibly impressive. Big on scale and a clear sound that makes watching movies or listening to music a wonderful experience.
We have sold a few sets prior and have now come to the last, which is basically a NOS – New Old Stock set that we just open up for the pics you see here. We are going to throw in a pair of ST-95 stands (white finish and also NOS) in our asking price. First pic you see is from an earlier set that we sold and listed here for reference only. You will see the NOS status of the speakers in the other pics. We have the original boxes for them and since they will be shipped in two boxes, shipping cost will be reflected as such.
