The MVP-891 is firstly, an outstanding SACD/CD player that also doubles up as an excellent Blu-ray and DVD player. Region code is 1. Unlike the MVP-871 it replaces, it now offers Blu-ray to its multi-format capability. As a video playback unit (3D capable), it is a pretty impressive unit via its HDMI output. But where it truly shines is its two channel playback. Its 24bit/192KHz PCM/DSD DAC produces an amazing resolution when listening to SACDs or CDs. I am sure your options are many if you are searching for a SACD/CD player. But to find one that has a heritage similar to McIntosh, built quality second to none, a sound quality that just touches on being high end and under $2000? When it was introduced to the market back then, it had the latest in audio and video technology which still resoundingly competes favorably with many current crop of multi-format players.
Unit is in pretty nice condition with just the usual minor scuff marks common with use. Remote control is new and the latest offering from McIntosh as the older ones tend to deteriorate with that latex finish they apply on it. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
