Overview
When you listen to the AV5105, you can’t avoid the unmistakable sound of LINN through it. It sits on a slightly larger footprint than its LK series at about 16″ square but it has a slightly more refined sound than the LK series. With 100W on tap at 8 ohms and 200W at 4 ohms, the AV5105 does have a decent amount of “juice” to drive most speakers except the really current hungry ones. Paired with the Spendor SP100, they formed a smooth, warm sounding partnership that is hard not to like. Speaker out only takes BFA banana plugs so do take note of that. The AV5105 is an eight channel amp, four channels on each side which you could either fully utilized with their AV range of speakers or drive to pairs of front speakers. Full flexibility of your choosing. Switch on the back allows you to switch between 115V or 230V so it can be used anywhere in the World. The amp is designed to be left on and turns on when when it sense an incoming signal. When no incoming signal is detected after a few minutes, it turns off on its own. Cosmetically, the unit looks fair. Some scuff marks/scratches and dents here and there but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but can securely pack it for safe shipping.
