The William Tell Zero model is the range topping model in AudioQuest’s Folk Heroes series. The Mythical Creatures Series that is the brand’s flagship is essentially a thicker version (10 AWG vs 13 AWG) with a different conductor composition cable. Both series use their ZERO Technology which makes them standout from other speaker cables with their zero impedance characteristic in their cables. Prices however, jumps considerably – 68% more for the same length from the William Tell Zero to the Thunderbird which is the lowest model in the Mythical Creatures range. So unless you are prepared to pay that premium and go for the Thunderbird, the William Tell is the “best buy” between the two where it offers a much closer sound to the Mythical Creature series than Robin Hood which is the starter model in the Folk Heroes series. The transparency and immediacy from these cables are to die for. Presentation was beautifully structured and clean which allows every nuances of the music to come through. Top notch amps and speakers are a must to fully exploit the amazingly sound of these cables!
