Overview
One thing that is always consistent with Vienna Acoustics is the quality of their speakers. The Maestro Grand center channel speaker is another good example. Well built with quality materials and a sound that belies its conservative price point. The speaker did a very good job reproducing voices and the tough action sequence in movies. Compared to the Maestro (which had a slightly smaller bass driver), the Maestro Grand had a bigger soundstage and bass was tighter and faster. Both would go down to 38Hz but with the slightly bigger 6″ spider cone mid-woofers, the Maestro Grand had more bass volume. It is fairly easy to drive at 4 ohms with a 91 dB sensitivity. Manufacturer recommends a minimum of 30W to drive it. Physically, it is a “mid” size center channel speaker – 23 1/4″ x 6 3/4″ x 11.45″.
Finish on this speaker is light maple cherry and except for some minor scuff marks here and there and a few dings, looks really good overall. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
