This is the next best thing after the flagship Statement preamp which cost more than double the MSRP of the Master at $75,000. At this level of performance, you won’t do no wrong choosing either one of these reference level preamps. But for under $18,000 now, you can take home this Master Line Stage and be bewildered at its musicality that really sets it apart from other like price preamp. It shares the same high built standard as the Statement but in a slightly smaller chassis. Tubes used in the unit can be either from the family of 6DJ8, 6922, 7308, ECC88, E88CC tubes or 12DJ8, 8416 tubes. You would need to flip a switch inside depending on which group of tubes you are using. So it is not surprising that both preamps are very close sounding with the Statement having just a slightly better definition and a slightly fuller body.
Cosmetically, the setup looks really good. Minor scuffs common with use but nothing major. Remote has a couple of tiny surface nicks. We have the original box and will be securely packed for safe shipping.
