No intro needed here. The FET-10HL is one of the greatest solid state preamp ever made. Four line inputs and two tape loop with an additional pair of analog input which is used when paired with the FET-10P phono preamp. As a line level only preamp, the FET-10HL comes with a separate power supply that you can place more than 3ft away to keep the sensitive circuit inside the control unit from being affected by EMF generated by the transformer. The FET-10HL is a prime example of neutrality and transparency at the highest level especially when it carried a price tag of “only” $2,500 (about $6,500 in today’s dollars). Built and finish is first class with the aluminum faceplate exuding a “macho” industrial look. Controls have a solid feel and very comforting as you select the inputs or adjust the volume.
Cosmetically, the preamp looks good. Minor scuff marks/nicks here and there that are common with use but nothing major. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
