The M1 speaker is probably the most recognizable monitor speaker from Swans Speaker Systems. It looking very close to Sonus Faber’s Minima FM2 probably made many mistakenly think it as one too! But outside the real wood and leather finish (similar to to the Minima), the M1 uses their own proprietary drivers = their RT1 isodynamic tweeter and F5 mid/bass woofer. With a slightly larger mid woofer, the M1 extends down deeper at 53 Hz vs 70 Hz in the Minima FM2 and goes higher – 40 kHz with its ribbon tweeter. This gave the M1 a broader spectrum in terms of detail retrieval and clarity during music playback. Speakers are fairly easy to drive at 6 ohm impedance and 86 dB sensitivity. Each speaker weighs roughly 19 lbs and will benefit greatly with a sturdy and heavy speaker stands. Its dimensions are almost similar to the Minima FM2 at about 8″ wide, 12″ tall and 11″ deep.
Cosmetically, they look good for its vintage. Some scuff marks here and there and a few tiny wood peel spots but nothing really bad. Speakers will be securely packed for safe shipping.
