Overview
This is Stenheim’s top of the range speaker and is the next best thing (and also more affordable) before you get into their Reference series which is a whole different story there. Each speaker is about 220 lbs, made entirely of aluminum, houses two 10″ woofers, one 6.5″ mid-woofer and one 1″ neodymium tweeter. Frequency response is 28 Hz to 35 KHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohm and a sensitivity of 94 dB. They are very easy to drive but with more current and power, they become a different animal. In our auditioning, just 5-10 mins into any music is all that it needs to get jaws dropping. If we talk about speaker precision, the Alumine 5 is like the benchmark (in our opinion). It was super fast, tight and imaged so well, its almost like having a live soundstage in your room. If you are shopping for the last pair of speakers you would ever own, the Alumine 5 may be the top contender in that list. Previous owner custom ordered a pair of acrylic covers that fits over the speakers when not in used to protect the drivers from prying fingers.
Cosmetically, the speakers are in near mint condition. Speakers will come with Finite Elemente Cerabase footers which cost almost $1,800 at no extra cost. Due to their weight and size, they will have to ship freight where they will be strapped on a pallet.
