Overview
This is Red Rose Music reference preamp. But what distinguishes this and other Model 3 is that this is the premium Silver Signature version which have silver cables inside. You don’t see many Silver Signature versions out there in the market and with the regular Model 3 selling typically in excess of $3,000, our Silver Signature version at $2,995 (the same price we sold the regular Model 3 previously) is a steal. We have sold the regular Model 3 before and the Silver Signature is definitely the cleaner sounding unit between the two. The clarity is slightly sharper and the highs had better spatial separation. Good as the Model 3 maybe but the Silver Signature added a bit more definition. The preamp still uses one 12AU7 and one 6922 tube in each channel so tube rollers should be delighted to tube roll this unit to their hearts content. The power supply is a separate unit that is connected via a huge umbilical cord from the main unit. Its long enough for you to place the power supply unit away from the sensitive circuitry in the main unit so you don’t have to worry if your current 22″ wide rack cannot accommodate both units on the same shelf.
The previous owner of this unit had it paired with their flagship Model 1 tube monoblocks ($25,000 MSRP and we have them for sale in another listing) and he never looked at anything else after this. To him, this was the best sounding pre/power combo he has ever owned. Cosmetically, the unit looks good. Minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
