Overview

The No.331 may be the smallest spec (100W per channel) Levinson amp in the No.33_ series of amps but it is one of the greatest 100W amp ever built. Sonically, its as close to audio heaven than most other amps in the $5,000 range. Big soundstage, very controlled bass slam, a slightly forward mid-range and a well define highs are its hallmarks. Outlandishly built, massively heavy with huge heatsinks on its sides and a real “mean” stance that evokes a guarding bulldog in front of your audio system, the No.331 can easily be the bedrock for a “budget” reference system.  No wonder Stereophile emphatically salutes it as a Class A recommended amplifier. Power output doubles to 200W in 4 ohms and 400W in 2 ohms. This amp had one owner from NEW and was was recently re-capped and serviced back to original factory specs by the authorized Mark Levinson service center in NYC for $2,600. So at our asking price of $3,500, its like getting a fresh out of the box No.331! See our other listing for the matching No.38S preamp that it was originally paired with.

Cosmetically, it has some scuff marks here and there and a few scratches on the top cover that is not too uncommon for this amp but still looks pretty good overall. Due to its weight, it will have to ship freight or local pickup at our store.
