Overview
This is the “full boat” version of the Kairn preamp. They also have the line only version but if you want the full featured model with the newer SPS power supply, this is the one. The Kairn has a smooth, magical, warm, tube-like sound. The highs were sweetly rolled off and absent of any solid state harshness. Bass was rich but not too boomy. Add the MM and MC phono inputs and the the Kairn is a steal for under $900 now. No wonder it has won many positive reviews over the years. Cosmetically, it is in nice shape. Some scuff marks here and there (mainly under the fold down front cover on a narrow strip of the faceplate) that are barely visible. A LINN system remote is included and unit will be securely packed for safe shipping. Unit is selectable for 120V or 240V operation on the rear panel so it can be used anywhere in the World.
