Klipsch has been the industry leader in making hybrid horn/woofer speakers. The Chorus II is an improved design over the original Chorus where the bass now dips 6 Hz lower at 39 Hz. Its still a three way design with a passive bass radiator. The high frequency and midrange are produced via its Exponential horn and Tractix horn respectively. Bass comes from its active 15″ Fiber-composite cone that is front facing and a rear firing passive 15″ Fiber-composite cone. Impedance is 8 ohm with a sensitivity of 101 dB. Theses speakers play loud and will easily fill a large room with its musical presence. Soundstage is big and deep and the bass energy is tremendous. We prefer driving them with tube amps (warmer sounding solid state amps works nicely too) where the midrange is a bit more richer and the highs, smoother and less harsh.
Cosmetically, the speakers look good for its vintage. Some scuff marks here and there and slight corner joists splitting on the base (but still intact). The dust cap on one of the passive radiator is slightly dimpled but no impact on its functionality and the black screw cap on the speaker binding posts is missing. Local pickup preferred but if shipping is required, they will be shipped strapped on a pallet.
