This is a beautifully made turntable from the Swiss high end brand, Holborne. The two unique features of this turntable are the use of a plastic reel, like those used in cassette tapes, as the belt and its ability to play 78 rpm records! Like most high end turntables, it uses a separate power supply which in this case, also houses the finer adjustment for the three speeds it will spin the platter – 33, 45 and 78 rpm. Selection of each speed is done but pressing the “power on” button on the bottom left corner of the table top. Press one time and it will turn the turntable on and go straight into 33 rpm. To go into 45 rpm speed, from the off position, press the button twice and in 78 rpm, press the button three times. On both selection, always start with the unit in its off position. When in the 45 and 78 rpm speed, the LED will shine red and orange respectively. LED will be green in the 33 rpm mode. Six NEW extra belts are included.
Cosmetically, the unit is in very nice condition. Cartridge is not included so feel free to use your preferred choice. Just put on a cartridge and the Holborne is ready for its musical presentation.
