Overview
This was GoldenEar’s former flagship center channel speaker and like the rest of the speaker range, offered a high cost to performance ratio. The speaker is about 33″ wide, 6″ tall and 11″ deep and although is a 2.5 way design, actually packs eight drivers in it. On the front fascia, there is the award winning High Velocity Ribbon Tweeter and four 5.25″ Cast-Basket mid/bass drivers. At the top, there are two 6.75″x8″ and one 7″x10″ Quadratic Planar LF radiators. With drivers firing out from the front and top, the center speaker should ideally sit on a open top rack or the top shelf of a rack so that the large soundstage will be unhindered when playing back your movie soundtracks. Frequency range is an impressive 33 Hz to 35 kHz with a sensitivity of 91 dB.
Overall condition of the speaker is good with a few tiny holes in the grille cover and some light scuff marks on the plastic endcaps which are only noticeable when you get up close. Local pickup from our store welcomed but if shipping is required it will be securely packed for safe shipping.
