Overview
This is a Fostex FE206NV based speaker design where a single driver is housed in a rather large transmission line speaker enclosure. Speakers were built in New Jersey by an audiophile who basically loves full range drivers in a crossover-less design. We have bought many pairs from him in the past and everyone, in our opinion and eventually the new owners who bought them swear by the purity of sound it produces. This particular pair is an “enlarged” Fostex design and quite similar to a Schimdt Audio pair we sold a while back that had a Fostex 4″ driver in a small transmission line enclosure. Needless to say, with this bigger transmission line cabinet and a larger 8″ driver, the bass is more impactful and had greater volume presence. Speakers would appreciate a good amount of space around it to breathe and if you can accord them the right room size, they can project a decent size soundstage with great holographic imaging. The Fostex has a sensitivity of 96dB, nominal impedance of of 8 ohm and a frequency range of 42Hz to 18kHz. There are no crossovers so the signal coming out from your system is what the speakers would replicate. So a good, high quality set of components will make a big difference in hos they will sound in your room. Speakers are 72″ tall, 13.5″ wide and 19″ deep. They weigh 102lbs each.
Speakers looks nice with minor scuff marks here and there from being used as a DEMO but nothing major. Local pickup preferred but if shipping is required, they will be shipped strapped on a pallet.
