Overview
These are very speakers from Dynaudio where only 2,500 pairs were made and 750 pairs shipped to the US. They are sold together with the matching Stand 20 stands ($500 MSRP) where the speakers can be screwed down to the stands to form a very secure one “piece” structure. Speakers are medium in size with 8 3/16″ x 15 1/8″ x 12 5/8″ (WHD) and uses the 7″ MSP mid-woofer from their Evidence Platinum series and the 1″ Esotar 3 tweeter from the Confidence series flagship speaker. Frequency response is 42 Hz to 23 kHz with a nominal impedance of 4 ohm and a sensitivity of 85 dB. These speakers are current hungry and loves loads of power. We drove them with a pair of 200W monoblocks and they sound phenomenal. Depending on the size and setup of your room, placing them 3 feet out from the rear wall and a minimum of 18″ from the side walls, the Heritage Special delivered a nice deep soundstage that compacted the singer and instruments right center between the speakers. Bass was impressive (even though it didn’t go down to the region of 20-30 Hz) and more than adequate in our listening room with a fast, tight and punchy response. The mids and highs were richly textured and smooth with lots of upper end details. These speakers would give Harbeth speakers a good run for their money.
Cosmetically, the speakers are in very good shape. One owner from new and we have the original boxes, manual, grille covers and spikes. Together with the stands, they are shipped in three boxes. Local pickup from our store preferred but can ship if needed.
