Overview
This a like NEW condition PMA-1600NE. Meticulously cared for and only up for sale because the previous owner upgraded to the top of the line PMA-A110 which retails for almost twice the price of the PMA-1600NE. The PMA-1600NE at 70W per channel in 8 ohm (10W less than the PMA-A110) is pretty potent enough for most speaker applications (It will double up to 140W in 4 ohm). And with the added latest DAC technology on board, this integrated amp is like a one-stop audio piece for both digital and analog sources. It will handle 24-bit/192 kHz resolution and 32-bit/384 kHz via its USB input. Phono input will accept both MM and MC cartridges.
Sonically, the Denon delivered more than we would have expected from a $2,100 integrated. Solid built quality, impressive specs but most importantly, a sound production that was fast, accurate, surprisingly warm and loads of punch when the need arises. Soundstaging and imaging was outstanding. If Denon’s recent return to two channel audio is this good, the future looks really promising! We have the original box, manual and remote for it.
