The Vivaldi DAC is a technological wonder. It was dCS’s State of the Art DAC where it featured their latest dCS Ring DAC and clocking system. The level of accuracy and precision of the DAC gave the music it reproduces benchmark setting resolution, speed and realism. For our listening years, this is the undisputed champion when it comes to reference level DAC. The digital volume control allows you to skip the preamp if your system only comprises digital front sources. In terms of digital gears you can hook up to, it has four AES/EBU inputs, three SPDIF, one Toslink and one USB 2.0. Outputs are a pair of XLRs and a pair of RCAs. Casing is machined out of aircraft standard aluminum and damped to reduce vibration and electrical interference. Vivaldi Apex that replaced this is now $46,500 so this unit is quite the steal at under $25,000 now.
