These are one of the great monitor speakers from the Eighties and one of the finest to come out from England. It will readily compete with any monitor speakers of current period with ease. The level of transparency, smooth warmth and detailed highs are just magical for under $500 now. It is a sealed box design and will require a sturdy pair of stands to keep a tight performance from these speakers. Drivers in each speaker are 1.25″ aluminum dome tweeter and a 6.5″ Kobex PVC cone woofer which are good for a frequency range of 60 Hz to 16 kHz. Not the deepest of bass but we found them very satisfactory on most application unless you are expecting room shaking bass which they will not produce. Impedance is 8 ohm and sensitivity is 84 dB. A good quality amp is highly recommended and we drove them with 100W which really made them sing.
Speakers have been wrapped in black vinyl because one of the speakers were purchased by the previous owner in walnut to pair his black speaker (which was used as a center speaker) for a stereo pair. Wrap looks really nice on these speakers with some minor scuff marks here and there. Bask side of one of the grille cover has a bit of “wood puncture” where the back pin on the model badge splintered some of the wood around it. Speakers will be securely packed for safe shipping.
