Overview
The Hurricane DT tube monoblock amps were considered one of the best buys out there when they first hit the market. With eight KT88 tubes in each monoblock, it will produce 200W in pentode mode or 100W in Triode mode with just a flick of the toggle switch on the top panel. Biasing is also breeze by turning the tube selector knob on the side to the designated tube and adjusting it accordingly and eye balling the front display reading (450-480 is the optimum). Current lot EH KT88 tubes installed in the amps are like brand new with less than 1 hour of use to evaluate the amps. We would have run longer hours of used had we not maintained some discipline and turn the amps off because they are so beautiful sounding! For under $3,000 now, they are hard to beat. Rich, glorious sound with holographic imaging that you would find in more expensive amps and higher end brands.
Cosmetically, the amps look good. Some scuff marks/nicks here and there and one of the amps has a slight ding to the transformer casing towards the back. We don’t have the original boxes so local pickup from the store preferred or if shipping is required, they will be shipped strapped on a pallet. Each amp weighs a hefty 70lbs!
