These Mapleshade Brass Tube Anchors are one of many different tube damper options available out there. The more common ones being the O-rings. The problem with those are that over extended use and the high heat nature of the tubes some become harden or become overly elastic (depending on the materials use) and thus losing its ability to control the tube resonance. The Brass Tube Anchors on the other hand suffers none of these shortcomings. But being that it is brass, it traps heat just as well as it allows heat to permeate through. So do not try to slide the brass to cover the entire tube (would be very tough anyway with how it is design to just slip over the top 30-40% of the tube. They are mainly used over standard nine pin tubes like 12AX7, 6DJ8 etc. Diameter of the opening is about 22mm and stands 32mm tall. You can also ground the Tube Anchor by attaching a copper wire on the grounding screw on the outer rim of the anchor.
