Struss Audio is a specialty audio manufacturer hailing from Poland. The DM250 is a dual mono design that pumps out 250W in 4 ohm and 130W in 8 ohm with the first 10W in Class A. Layout is very simple with just two knobs on the front for input selection and volume control. Even the remote is a two button affair for volume up and down. The amp employs dual mono 500W transformers at its “heart” and belts out the 130W/250W out to the speakers. Sound quality of the amp is really good for an integrated. Presentation was tight, rich and smooth with lots of power reserve to go loud. Its not in the same league as say, the Goldmund Telos 590 but neither does it cost (exorbitantly!) that much either. Inputs are fairly generous with three line inputs and one MM phono input. The CD input is their primary focus where it has both RCA and XLR inputs. There is a preout if you want to hook it up to an amp and used the DM250 as a preamp. Which we feel is unnecessary since it is so good on its own already. So if you want to setup a simple system with a major focus on sound quality rather than bells and whistles, the DM250 is a good option.
Cosmetically, the unit looks good. Minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack it for safe shipping.
