There is no better statement piece than these VPA monoblocks to showcase Swiss precision built quality and sound. Using two 845 tubes (Shuguang) on each monoblock, the VPAs are fully Class A Push Pull designs that simply sounds mesmerizing. Included in the price are two Shuguang 845 tubes – 4 used that are currently on it, 4 brand new and 2 original ones that came from Nagra (used). We have had other 50W Class A amps come through our doors and we can tell you, there is a big difference between the VPAs and the “rest”. And that’s because these are no ordinary “tube amps”. Fastidious built quality and a sound quality that can be simply described as “sunshine” – literally. There was the immediate transparency, the beautifully lush mid-range, finely honed highs and thunderous bass. Paired with our Focal Scala speakers, they became a sub-$50,000 pairing that will rival anything up to $100,000! Amps have 4,8 and 16 ohm taps in the rear and will drive most speakers unless you have very current hungry or low sensitivity speakers.
Cosmetically, the amps are in excellent shape with minor signs of use. Original manual and AC cord included. Other than the four 845 tubes being installed on the amps (about 100 hours of use), we will be including another matched quad set of 845 tubes that are new and unused and another two original “Nagra” labelled Shuguang 845 tubes. So ten Shunguang tubes in total! Shipping will be in three boxes – two boxes for the amps and a box for the tubes.
