The VRDS-20 CD player you see here is like the “bulked up” version of the VRDS-10. It has four column pillars which you could spiked them for much greater isolation from vibration (we don’t have the spikes but you can get OEM ones off eBay). The player has a 8x oversampling 20-bit DAC which still sounds really good in today’s 24-bit, 192 KHz upsampling machines. What distinguishes this player from other sub-$1,000 player is firstly, its VRDS drive mechanism, first class built quality and a clean and clear distinctive sound. The VRDS disc clamping system is a remarkable piece of engineering so the VRDS-20 can be used as a CD transport too if you want to enjoy the more current upsampling DACs out in the market. Digital outputs include ST optical, Toslink and Coaxial. The VRDS-20 also has XLR outputs which the VRDS-10 doesn’t.
Cosmetically, the unit looks good. Some minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. Original remote included and unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
