This was a CD player that never really made it to our shores. And what a waste that was! Offered largely in 230V countries and Japan, this would play side by side with the SCD-777ES and sound just as good but at a fraction of its cost. It is well built but not in the battleship like structure seen in the SCD-777ES. Which is a good thing for those who don’t want to deal with the size and weight of the SCD-777ES. Being the size of a shoe box, the CDP-X3000ES is much more manageable and spotting a manual top loading design, shares the same benefits of mechanical stability of a top loader. The SCD-777ES may have a motorized top cover but that can fail over the years whereas the manual open/close top cover in the CDP-X3000ES is almost unbreakable. There are four filter modes which you can select while playing your redbook CDs and we encourage you to try them out. In Europe and Japan, this CD player was a blockbuster. Paired with the matching TA-F3000 integrated amp (we have that for sale in another listing), they formed a classy setup that not only looked fantastic visually but also sounded really good. Sonically, it is worth its weight in gold! They are becoming more and more rare with each passing year so don’t miss this opportunity to own one of the last great CD players from SONY!
Cosmetically, this unit is in great shape. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. Previous owner kept it really well and even the remote is fastidiously wrapped in plastic to keep it mint. He even bought an additional laser head because he liked it so much, he had plans to keep it forever. This is a 220V version from Europe and was brought over when the previous owner moved here. It will be accompanied with a step up transformer. We have the original box too and will be securely packed for safe shipping.
