What’s amazing about the 260D CD player you see here is how much Simaudio has been able to squeeze in some of their digital know how from their more expensive models into this 260D CD player and kept it at a bargain price of $2,000. It is very well built for the money and sonically, one of the more musical players for under $3,000. Compared to the Sony SCD-777ES, the 260D was warmer and smoother. It may not have the pinpoint precision of the Sony but then again, the 260D was meant for the more conservative setup where it was designed to be partnered with their i-1 integrated amp for a class leading combo that didn’t cost more than $4,000. So if you are in the market for a very musical CD player and plan to build a simple setup that is focus on the music and not so much on having every feature out there, the 260D is a good starting point.
Cosmetically, the unit is in very nice shape. We have the original remote and will securely pack it for safe shipping.
