Schitt Audio started off by making amazing sounding and ridiculously affordable passive preamps but has now branch out to a full range (almost) electronic superstore. The Yggdrasil you see here is their flagship DAC. Its a multi bit design (24 bit/ 192 kHz) that had the Analog 2 upgrade (cost $650) but what really distinguishes it from other multi bit DAC is how exceptionally clear and musical it sounds for just $3,100 MSRP. We have heard similar sounding DACs from other manufacturers but they easily cost twice or three times as much. And some of these more expensive DACs don’t even have as comprehensive a range of inputs than what you would fine on the Yggdrasil. There are USB, optical, coaxial, BNC and AES/EBU with RCA and XLR analog outputs. So you can really pair this with anything out there.
