If you were attending hifi shows in the Eighties, you would probably see this amp and its matching Sixty Twenty preamp being demo in some dealer’s room. I remembered hearing this combo pitched against Quad’s 66/606 pre and power combo and remembered the Robertson Audio setup totally crushing the Quads. The Sixty Two had a more thunderous bass when compared to the 606. The mids were richer, fuller and the highs had more extension. The Sixty Ten was also the better built amp with a much bigger transformer inside (weighs almost 70 lbs compared to the 606’s 30 lbs). This was a classic from the Eighties and when this came in to our shop, we did not hesitate to have it refreshed with new caps, transistors and bias back to original specs because this is a truly great amp. It will rival anything out there costing up to $3,000. With this refresh, the amp is good for another 15-20 years! Power output is an enormous 200W per channel in 8 ohm and 400W in 4 ohm and is stable down to 1 ohm. Dimension wise, it measures 19 x 14.25 x 7 inches.
Cosmetically, the amp is in pretty nice shape for its vintage. Minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. Amp will be securely packed for safe shipping.
