This is the later production V.3 amp where it has the added “Audio Sens” feature to allow you to turn the unit on other than via its 12V trigger or manually via the front power on/off switch. In the current revision of the amp, that feature is removed. With less than 1 square foot of shelf space it sits on, the Zamp can pack quite the power punch. In 8 ohms, it will produce 45W per channel. In 4 ohm, it goes up to 60W and if you run two of them in monoblock operation, it will deliver 90W in 8 ohm. If you have a speaker that is very current hungry and dips below 4 ohm for much of the time, this amp is not for you. But for the majority of budget and mid-fi users, this amp is as impressive as it is “cute”. We have one of this amp in our main system to “test” components and the many customers that have come through our store to audition stuff always end up shocked that the fine quality of music they were hearing came from this little amp! That was how unpretentious the Zamp was. No one batted an eyelid when it was left on the display shelf. But when it was put into a system and used to drive a pair of speakers costing many times more and never revealed to the customer, everyone thought the speakers were being driven by some high end amplifier!
Cosmetically, the unit is in nice shape. Just minor scuff marks (some parts were touched up with a sharpie) common with use but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping. Unit is switchable between 115V and 230V via a toggle switch underneath so it can be used anywhere in the World.
