The Mosaic is one of Martin Logan smallest floorstanders. They are not electrostatic speakers like their more expensive and bigger brethren. So instead of a large electrostatic panel for the mids and highs, it uses two ATF Transducer for ts mids and highs (a 1.5″ x 6″ and a 1.5″ x 2.25″ respectively). Bass is supplied through a 8″ high excursion aluminum cone driver. Frequency response is an impressive (for it size) 46 Hz to 20 KHz with a sensitivity of 90 dB and a nominal impedance of 5 ohms. Size wise, it stands 40″ tall, about 9.5″ wide and 12″ deep. Its not going to take up a lot of real estate in your room but the soundstage will. If you have at least a decent mid-size room like 10’12’ wide and 14′-16′ deep, the Mosaic can really put up a fairly large soundstage that has a depth to make the make presentation sounded larger than life (at least in our room it did). Bass was adequate in our room but no harm in adding a subwoofer if you want your room to rock. Mids and highs were clean and smooth with a nicely detailed delivery. At a price now that is usually associated with bookshelf speakers and stands, the Mosaic makes a compelling alternative. And it doesn’t take up more space than what a typical book shelf speaker on stands would.
Cosmetically, the speakers are in very nice shape. Minor scuff marks/nicks from use but nothing major. There are three dimple marks on the bass driver of one of the speaker but that does not affect performance. We don’t have the original boxes but can securely pack them for safe shipping.
