The great thing about progress is when you find some really fanciful stuff being introduced into products without inflating prices beyond reason. Take this Chorus CC700 for example. It spots two 6.5″ woofers that are made of polyglass and a 1″ tweeter that is made of aluminum/magnesium alloy. Add a quality built cabinet and a $650 price tag and you would agree that the $650 MSRP is an amazing price. The speaker is fairly compact at 19 5/16″ wide, 7 5/16″ tall and 7 3/16″ deep. Frequency response is from 61 Hz to 28KHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohm and a sensitivity of 91dB. The speaker was very easy to drive and the manufacturer recommends a minimum power of 25W. Sonically, the Chorus CC700 sounded more “expensive” than its $650 MSRP suggest. It easily rivaled some of our more expensive center channel speakers we have in the store. If you are looking for an inexpensive center channel speaker that offers 80% of our other $1,000 – $1,500 center channel speaker with some sacrifice in the bottom end and a less textured upper mids, the CC700 should be on your list. It has a crispy tight sound, clean details highs and a smooth, finely combed mids that will match nicely to any TV screen 55″ and smaller.
Cosmetically, the speaker is in very nice shape. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack it for safe shipping.
