Conrad Johnson’s recent string of preamps have been nothing short of exemplary. Compared to their hallmark PV series of preamps, the ET3SE HGPH has evolved so much, it sounds nothing like the earlier PV series. It has much better dynamics, better clarity, smoother and more defined mids and highs with a tighter bottom end. What makes the ET3SE HGPH even more enticing is that it is a trickled down design from their reference line preamp, GAT and the phono stage has been adopted over from their reference TEA1. This particular unit was also ordered with the HGPH option which uses 3x 12AX7 tubes (versus 2x 12AX7 and 1x 12AU7 in the low gain version) and is meant for vinyl owners who uses top end, low output cartridges (<1.0mV). The load is selectable between 47 kOhms down to 200 ohms. The line input stage uses one 6922 tube.
Cosmetically, this unit looks like new. It was used very briefly as a DEMO unit. We have the original remote (new in packaging), manual and box. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
