The “mini” monitor as many would describe the CM1, is a David vs Goliath speaker. Its approximately 6″ wide, 11″ tall and 11″ deep dimensions belie a much larger music scale it is capable of producing. Mounted on 24″ heavy duty stands, the CM1 can reproduce an impressively tight and deep bass (for its size). And in the small to medium size room it is designed for, was more than sufficient. Imaging was precise with a nice deep soundstage. The Nautilus derived tube-loaded domed tweeter was detailed and accurate. Frequency range ranges from 45Hz to 22KHz with a nominal impedance of 8 ohms. Sensitivity is on the low side at 84dB so it does need a bit more “juice” to drive them to thrilling levels. Suggested power required is a minimum 30W.
Finish on the speakers are Wenge. There are some scuff marks here and there, on the edges and on the aluminum plate that surrounds the tweeter. It doesn’t look all that bad unless you get up close and you would notice the minor marks. We have the original box and will double box it to ensure its safe arrival.
