This is an all American classic stereo power amp. Loads of power – 200W per channel and basically built to last. Built in the heydays of the likes from Adcom, Bryston, just to name a few, the ST-202 was an impressive power amp that delivered loads of power and yet sounded refined, smooth and priced very affordable. There is no overly complicated design on the inside to bring the power to the masses which on hindsight now, was a very good thing. Its simple layout with the greater emphasis on a huge toroidal transformer and big caps allowed the amp to simply focus on delivering a musicality beyond its price point. There are better sounding 200W amps now but for $250, this will totally crush all the other $250 competition out there (like those from Sony, Onkyo and what have you).
As you can see from the pictures, the amp is in pretty good condition. Some small minor knicks on the edges here and there and minor scuff marks on the chassis cover, but nothing major. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe arrival.
