The MKII version of the VT100 is a model that was improved upon over the very successful original VT100. It is still 100W per channel but with a beefier power supply over the original VT100, the MKII has a slightly more anchored soundstage and presence. Depth was impressive with very good imaging when listening to vocals. Bass was tight and had tremendous bass slam that you would have thought came from larger, higher power output tube amps. Like the original VT100 and the MKIII (we have sold all three models before), the VT100 series of amps are one of our all time favorites. Pick any of the three models and it is highly unlikely you will be disappointed. Amp uses eight 6550 tubes, four 6922 tubes in the driver stage and another four 6922 tubes in the input stage.
Cosmetically, the amp looks really good. Some minor scuff marks here and there and a few light scratches on the cover that were touched up by a sharpie, but nothing major. Current set of 6550 tubes inside tested out fine but we always encourage the new buyer to have a new set ready to replace them over. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
