The Primo CD player has a narrower width than conventional full 17″ wide players. But that does not mean it has only half the hardware or technology found in the conventional sized players. In fact, the CD player is just filled to the brim with clever engineering that its $850 MSRP makes you wonder if the manufacturer is actually making an money at all! The aluminum clad casing is firstly a work of beauty. Controls was kept to its minimal and with only two front buttons, CD playback was still cleverly achieved. The CD transport was derived from the industry leader in high end CD transports – TEAC and with a 24bit/96KHz DAC, music was just smooth and non-fatiguing. Don’t expect reference resolution from this unit. But expect full musical enjoyment.
We have the original box, manual and remote. Unit is a conservatively solid 8/10 condition but in our opinion, closer to a 9/10.
