Even though this was Aragon’s most expensive stereo preamp offering, it was a huge bargain when it was pitched against similar preamps that cost up to $5,000. The sound quality was something you would expect from a “starter” reference preamp where it pulled out details and offered a transparency that you commonly associate with preamps costing much more. It is solidly constructed with a separate power supply called the Ingot, which you could place a distance away to keep any electrical interference or noise away from the sensitive circuit boards inside the preamp. It differs itself from the 24K with a balanced design, a more robust power supply and the offering of XLR outputs. The high level of sound quality and affordability was what made this one of the most recognizable preamp in the early 2000s because it was found in the window displays of most hifi shops around the World. This together with the Palladium amp was a pre/power combo to die for. A real Aragon classic. This unit has been re-capped and bias back to its original factory specs so it provide many more years if musical enjoyment.
Cosmetically, there are minor scuff marks here and there but nothing major. Unit will be securely packed for safe shipping.
