If the Model 20T is beyond your budget or too big for your room, take heart because the Model 9 is your next best option in the Aerial Acoustic family tree lineup. The Model 9 is bigger than the Model 7 we had sold earlier so you get a deeper bass slam and a larger soundstage that is both wide and deep. It is 26% heavier at 120 lbs each and spots four 7.1″ bass drivers, one 6″ mid-woofer and one 1″ titanium dome tweeter. All these are housed inside a very sturdy and solid cabinet that is almost 47″ tall (48″ if the spikes are used), 19″ deep and 8.5″ wide (11″ wide on the rear ) in the front. Frequency response is 30 Hz to 22 KHz with a nominal impedance of 4 ohm and a sensitivity of 90 dB. The speakers love power and we obliged with 200W that seems to let loose a enthralling musical presentation in our medium size room. The speakers does require some labor in setting them up and finding its optimum angle but its all worth it in the end. For under $4,000 now, these speakers are unbeatable in the sound to dollar value equation. Solid built quality, strong reputation and a sound quality worthy of speakers costing up to $15,000. Whats not to love!
Cosmetically, they look really good with the usual scuff marks from use but nothing major. Optional outriggers are included (gold finished version) which really kept the speaker more firmly in place once you sought out its optimal positioning in your room. Due to its weight and size, they will have to be shipped freight. Local pickup from our store is welcomed.
