The GTP-760 was a pretty expensive AV preamp when it first appeared. Technology has moved on since then so if you are thinking of getting the GTP-760 as the control unit for your home theater system, you might want to reconsider your options. Not that it is bad but the processing software in the current AV processors and DVDs and Blu-rays have come a long way. So unless you just want a basic home theater setup, this would do just fine. In a gaming system, go for it. As a two channel audio preamp, JACKPOT! As a stereo preamp, it is actually very good for the money. We can’t think (in our opinion) of a better stereo preamp for under $100. Sound was clean and dynamic. Very typical of Adcom preamps.
Cosmetically, there are some scuff marks here and there but nothing major. We were supplied with the remote control but the battery compartment cover is broken. We will include that in but didn’t manage to get it to communicate with the AV preamp. We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
