Overview
The DirectStream Memory Player and its accompanying DirectStream DAC was so celebrated when they first came out, they were compared to six figure combos from dCS and Esoteric. Although the PS Audio pieces each cost $6,000 MSRP, they weren’t cheap either but to hold its own against those much more expensive competition, they were amazing. The DirectStream Memory Player may be using the transport from Oppo but everything else outside the transport mechanism is designed and built by PS Audio. It will read your regular CDs, SACD and DVD-A. To enjoy SACD playback, it would need to be paired with the DirectStream DAC and have the digital signal passed through via its I2S ports (HDMI). But whether you use this for your regular CDs or SACDs, this is a great transport and even better as a transport/DAC combo with the DirectStream DAC (which we also have for sale in another listing).
Cosmetically, it is in very nice shape. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. We don’t have the original box or manual but will securely pack it for safe shipping. Original remote included.
