Overview

The McIntosh MC7100 is an amazing power amp for the money. Unlike many of their newer designs that looks “big”, the MC7100 has a slim line design that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to fit into any rack and in any room. With a power output of 100W into 8 ohms and 300W when used as monoblocks, you will be surprise how larger than scale it sound with its high current power output capability. Distortion is so impressively low that it is almost difficult to get a reading. And all these translates into an effort free smooth sound that is unlike any other power amplifier priced under $1,500. The amp accepts both RCA and XLR inputs. We have two of this units where the previous owner “monoblocked” them to power the rear surrounds while he had the MC501s (also for sale in a separate listing) driving the front two speakers.

Cosmetically, the amp is in pretty nice condition. Minor scuff marks here and there a spot of glue residue from a identification sticker placed there previously. The left aluminum side frame has a tiny chip on the inside edge. Display is bright and in its typical McIntosh glow. We have the original manual and will have it securely packed for safe shipping.
