Overview
The MC205 is kinda the sweet spot multi-channel amp in McIntosh’s lineup. If you don’t need seven channels of amplification (like their MC207 that lists for $2,000 more) but want a solid 200W per channel into five, the MC205 is the one to get. The three power meters on the front are for the front stereo and center channel which are basically the three most critical channel in a home theater setup. So if you want the tight, warm but powerful sound of McIntosh’s solid state amps replicated in your home theater setup, the MC205 will do the trick. Massively built with a solid reliability reputation, this amp will make any home theater setup proud.
Cosmetically, the amp looks great. Just minor scuff marks common with use but nothing major. We have a MC205 box to put it in and will shipped strapped to a pallet due to its size and weight.
