Krell KAS-2 Class A monoblocks. Lots of positive reviews. 1 owner, restored! $22,000 MSRP

Selling for $14,995.00

Next best thing after the KAS!

The KAS-2 was once considered the best solid state design and at $22,000 MSRP then ($42,000 in today’s dollars) was also pretty expensive. But if you want the next best thing after the KAS and have deep pockets, the KAS-2 was the amp to get. Massively built with one of the biggest transformers used in an amplifier, the KAS-2 punches out 200W of Class A sound in 8 ohm and goes all the way up to 1,600W in 1 ohm. The immense power reserve is barely challenged when we listened to them in our listening room. Even at volume levels that will make our neighbors call the authorities, the power meter was barely crossing 10 amperes. We partnered the amp with the matching KRC-HR (will be listed for sale too) where together, they sounded like the World Class combo  they were designed to be, loads of authority, bass, cleans mids and highs and pace. Amplifier is a full balanced design so if you are using RCA cables, you will need an XLR/RCA adapter or just swap to XLR cables.

Cosmetically, the amps look good. One amp has a bit of scratch on the top plate but nothing to drastic (see pics). They had one owner from NEW and used for about 6 months before they were stored away as part of a collection. We recently got access to this collection and had the amps fully restored at an authorized Krell service center where the amps were brought back to original specs. We spent close to $10,000 on the restoration so the amps work like NEW now and will be good for the next 15-20 years. Original boxes, manual and the remote (to turn the amps ON and OFF from your sitting position) are included. These amps are getting rarer with each passing year and a pair in this condition and fully restored is like an audio unicorn.
