OTL (Output Transformer Less) amps are a rarity in the industry due to their intricate circuitry and engineering involved. But for the many that have owned and still own such an amps, there is nothing like it. As what OTL means – there is no output transformer between the tubes and the speakers. OTL amps basically have the power tubes driving the speakers directly. And with that, there is a certain purity, precision and speed that you don’t necessarily hear with other tube amps. The Final Cut MK70 is a four 6c33 power tube monoblock amp. With six Bugle Boy E88C/6922 tubes (a matched pair can sometimes be found selling anywhere between $200 to $400) handling the input signal, each monoblock amp spots just nine tubes in each amp. Power output is a healthy 70W in 8 ohm and would drive most speakers except the most current hungry or inefficient speakers. Preamp and speaker matching plays an important role on bringing out the best from the amps so some experimentation is needed. Passive preamp you see in the pics not included.
Cosmetically, the amps look good. Minor scuff marks from use but nothing major. Power tube hours on the amp now are about 80-100 and will come with another set of 8 that previous owner had also been using. We have the original crates for each of the amp and would have them shipped freight where the crates will be strapped on a pallet. Local pickup from our store can be arranged.
