Overview
Aliante is the smaller scale Italian speaker manufacturer to Sonus Faber. Like Sonus Faber, they make some truly luxurious and beautiful speakers. The Zeta speakers you see here has design house, Pininfarina involved and the end result is this work of art. The speakers have real wood cabinets (so their coloration can vary) with top end drivers used. Each speaker has one 28mm silk dome tweeter and a 6.5″ pentapolymer woofer. Frequency response is a solid 38 Hz to 25 KHz with a nominal impedance of 6 ohm and a sensitivity of 88 dB. We have sold many Sonus Faber speakers before and the Aliante Zero is equal if not better than some of Sonus Faber best selling monitor speakers. On the Vela stands (which are included in our asking price and was a $1,400 option) and properly toed in, the imaging produced by the speakers are outstanding. With a grandeur soundstage, the speakers sounded larger than they are (which is 10″ wide, 14″ tall and 18″ deep) and rivaled some of our floorstanders in our store for its dynamics and and seamless delivery. Speakers can be bi-amped but feeding them with a quality power source (drove them with 100W) had better returns than a “lower” quality amp in bi-amp mode.
Cosmetically, the speakers look really good. A few minor scuff marks/nicks here and there and a light scratch on the side of one speaker are its minor blemish. Speakers and stands are shipped in four boxes so we need to factor that into the total shipping cost. Local pickup from our store can be arranged.
