The Sttaf speakers, like all the other speakers in Totem’s range are fabulous speakers. They are always well made and they always sound really good. Being slim floorstanders, the Sttaf was an interesting alternative to their winning assortment of monitor speakers. With monitor speakers like the The One or Model One, you need sturdy stands (or at least some kind of speaker stands) to mount them on. But with the Sttaf, you don’t have to deal with that issue. You unpack them out from their box and just position them correctly and you are ready to enjoy.
These speakers are not for heavy bass fans although they do produce very respectable bass levels. With jazz, light orchestra music and of course vocals, they simply sound magical. The spatial imaging was very good with a nice textured mid-range and upper mid-bass. There was very little hint of a “slim” case sound and in a medium sized room, it was able to project a large soundstage with good depth and width. Even in a large room, they worked pretty well and its quality of sound reproduction was clearly evident the moment they are start playing in that room. Positioning of the speakers are critical to how it fares in your room so when you have them in the right place, they are magical.
This pair you see here is our last pair that is NEW in the box. Finish is mahogany. Pictures you see are the actual boxes and the other is for color representation on the finish.
