The TPA-3036A is a later model from the TPA-3006A amp that we recently sold. Although it is a 100W/4 ohm amp (versus 150W/4 ohm on the 3006A) it didn’t feel or sound like the lesser powered amp. It had the same rich mid-range and a well rounded bass. The highs were sweet and not overly sharp. We tried the amp with horns and full range drivers and it blended very well. Built quality is good (but we are not personal fans of the multi-plate structure chassis cover) for what it was priced at and especially with that pretty hefty transformer inside, there is really nothing to fault with this amp. It was musical and had decent power to drive most speakers out there. Speaker jacks will only accept spades or bare wire unless you use a spade/banana adapter.
Cosmetically, there are some scuff marks here and there and a couple of knicks along the edges. Overall, it doesn’t look that bad. The left LED indicator for clipping popped in but has no impact on the sound and it only comes on when the amp is over pushed anyway (which is rarely.) We don’t have the original box but will securely pack this for safe shipping.
